1. Initially, the ship had to be called MSC Fantastica. Almost before her launch, it was announced that the ship would be called MSC Divina in honor of the famous actress – Sophia Loren.

2. Sophia Loren became the godmother of MSC Divina. The ceremony was held in Marseilles on May 26, 2012.

3. The MSC Divina ship belongs to the Fantasia-class of the liners. Before her launch, there were already two of her sisters sailing under the flags of MSC – MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida. However, MSC Divina differs from her sisters: the MSC Divina tonnage is 1464 tons larger (139400 GT); there are 100 additional


on the ship; the crew was increased by 63 people.

The cruise ship, MSC Splendida, passes under the 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon during her maiden voyage to Barcelona.

4. During her maiden voyage in Venice, there were protests against the ship’s calling at the port. Local citizens were afraid that vibrations and waves from MSC Divina could damage historic buildings. According to history, everything seems to be fine.

5. The ship’s dimensions are impressive!
She is 1,092.52 ft (333 m) long, 219.2 ft (66.81 m) high!

6. 80% of MSC Divina cabins have an ocean view, 95% of them have balconies! In total, there are 1751

cabins on the ship
