The full name of the country is Antigua and Barbuda. There are two islands, the 'ancient' one,  and the 'bearded' (

Antigua island

). The 'bearded' Islands are very popular, like Barbados. The name comes from the bearded trees that surround the island. Due to frequent hurricanes, the trees are literally covered with roots, clinging to the earth.

...

The local hospital.

It is located on a hill that included a beautiful view of the cruise ship and the surroundings.

Treatment at the hospital is free of charge, a token of their British heritage.

Passing some big and small houses...

Although the island is not particularly rich, the houses are well kept.
The local church.

Caribbean number-plates - each island has its own and there are interesting variations.

A local driver assigned to tourists:

The English Harbor Antigua.

The English Harbor is very beautiful. There is also the Nelson Dockyard - a nearby museum.

The beaches are breathtaking, from every angle:

The crystal blue waters:

This beach has bars and restaurants with awnings.

The beaches stretch for miles:

While the beaches have plenty of shade and the water is warm throughout the year, it is necessary to wear swimming shoes because of the coral reefs and fragments:

Some of the shells found on the beach:

Someone made a heart of shells...

The coral fragments are mostly found on the surf line, you will only find fine sand in the water. The water is so clear that you can clearly see what you are walking on allowing you to go further...
