Burj Khalifa. The Tallest Building in the World. The United Arab Emirates

Gian Luka • 4 minutes read • May 15th, 2017
Today I'd like to tell you about the tallest building in the world, about the

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai with a height of 828 meters. The building was opened on 1/04/2010. Currently, it's the tallest building in the world. Originally, the building was called the Burj Dubai (Dubai Tower). However, when it was opened, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum renamed the building in honor of the UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The building was designed as a "city within the city" and it has its lawns, parks, boulevards, shopping centers, and so on. The total cost of construction is about 1.5 billion dollars. Initially, the height of the skyscraper was secret, in case someone would simultaneously build a taller building, so that it was possible to "break" the record.

The complex houses apartments, hotels, offices, and shopping centers. Burj Khalifa has the Armani Hotel designed by Giorgio Armani. The building even has its "own air," a fragrance created for Burj Khalifa coming through the air-conditioning system.
Construction began in 2004. 1-2 floors were built every week. Up to 12 thousand people took part in the construction every day.

We visited this magnificent building, and here's what we saw there.

The building is incredibly tall. I recommend you to register online when you are still at home. There are lots of visitors, and it's difficult to choose the right time directly in Burj Khalifa.

View of the building near the elevators.

Inscriptions near the elevators.

Bird's eye view of Dubai.

Below you can see a part of the Dubai Fountain.

The city is growing.

You can see the

Artificial World Islands

Just look how much the appearance has changed! The building below near the junction is the Toyota building :) Five low buildings to the right near the junction are the only "low" buildings in the next photo!

You can see the islands in the distance again.

There are the Dubai Mall and 400 meters of the height below.

Dubai Mall in all its glory.

An interesting fact: robots work in the fountain. They clean the bottom automatically all day long. It is the future in all its glory.

The most amazing thing is that it is not the highest point. There are several dozen floors above the observation deck:

Finally, Goodbye!

As you can see, the city is beautiful from the height. Its development rate is incredible!
