Celebrity Edge Gets Her Lucky Coin during the Keel Laying Ceremony

6/21/2017 became the next important step of

Celebrity Cruises

and STX France towards the new generation of cruise ships! Celebrity Edge got her lucky coin at the keel laying ceremony!

When the 875-ton keel block for Celebrity Edge was lifted in the air, the lucky coin was placed beneath it. Then the block of steel was lowered into position.

The keel laying ceremony was held in Saint-Nazaire France. The next Celebrity Edge reveal will be held in NY on 6/27/2017!

Celebrity Edge’s steel cutting ceremony took place in 2016. The groundbreaking cruise liner will be homeported in

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

. She is scheduled to depart on her maiden voyage on 12/16/2018. Celebrity Edge is going to take her 2,900 guests on the 7 Night Eastern Caribbean and 7 Night Western Caribbean cruises. Booking is already open!

We remind you that the next members of the Edge class are expected to be delivered in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
