Visiting Thessaloniki without visiting Ano Poli, is like visiting a house but not entering it’s beautiful balcony. To be more precise, the area that extends around the castles of Thessaloniki could be called another city. You can see this if you look at the aerial photo of the city where from the port it is dominated by the concrete buildings, while the Castle’s landscape changes, and then it is dominated by the good old tiles. Upper Town is a charming mosaic of history and tradition - a jumble of stone and green that we will explore on our leisurely paced walking tour. We will start our Upper Town tour with a traditional greek coffee. Next we will explore the courtyards and winding passages of Upper Town, and stop for amazing views and pictures and the Thermaikos while drinking a glass of ouzo in a courtyard . We will stop for some meze also to enjoy the Greek tastes while we watch the city and the sea from the distance.
