Free Torni Observation Deck And Rest-Room Overlooking Helsinki

You can find Solo Sokos Torni Hotel in a five-minute walk from a train station and the

Esplanadi Park

. Well, this is just a usual hotel, there were a lot of them in the

Helsinki

center. However, there is a nuance: there's the Ateljee bar on the 15th floor, and you can get to it through an observation deck.

The biggest disadvantage was the bar's opening hours - it was open after 2 p.m. The elevator won't take you there earlier. We checked it out.

You can use the elevator to get onto the observation deck. Unfortunately, it's glazed which really hinders the view.

There's

St John's Church

on the left and Mikael Agricola Church on the right, with its sliding spire. The white building with a green dome in the foreground is The Old Church of Helsinki.

Here you can see the fire observation tower, ferry and bell tower of Suomenlinna in the distance. It is an island with a fortress. We actually went there one day. I'll tell you later about it later.

This is Helsinki Cathedral on the Senate Square. You can see the structure similar to the Olympic torch on the horizon. If I'm not mistaken, it is a water tower which we passed on the bus. I wanted to go there and look at it next time.

It's hard to believe it, but this is the New Student House. I don't know anything about this organization. The building was built in 1910. You can see the railway station tower on the right and Lutheran Kallio Church in the distance. Its tower has a height of 213 feet (65 meters). I also recorded it in my list for the future.

Here's a summer cafe on a roof.

We decided to go inside this bar.

We found a sundeck in the bar! In fact, this is a free observation deck in the center of Helsinki. You can enjoy a cocktail or a cup of coffee or nothing at all, no one will force you to buy anything. You just go out on the balcony.

This is a shopping center called FORUM.

This is Mannerheiminaukio Square, Museum of Modern Art, House of Music and the Olympic Stadium, with its tower.

This is the FORUM's roof.

The bar has been operating since 1951 and it is considered one of the best bars in Finland.

This is not the end. We went down the stairs and found ourselves...

...in a rest-room with large panoramic windows! By the way, the women's cubicle offers more beautiful views than the men's one ;)

Address of Solo Sokos Torni Hotel is Yrjönkatu 26. The nearest metro station is Kamppi.
