Guardians Of The Temple Of Pura Ulun Danu Batur

Pura Ulun Danu Batur

is the second most important

temple in Bali

. It was built on the crest of the caldera of the Gunung Batur volcano (

mount Batur

) in 1926 and dedicated to the goddess of rivers and lakes Ida Batari Dewi Ulun Danu. 

There are many sculptures of guards in the temple, which I photographed with my new fisheye. Fearsome warriors appeared quite comical...

At the entrance to the Temple we all were made to put on the sarongs. Temples in Bali are very specific. With slots. I haven't seen such before:

Walls are made from pieces of volcanic lava:
