Dresses, shorts, skirts, jackets, jeans, comfortable shoes – you can put on your favorite casual clothes to feel comfortable and confident on a ship. Since each of the company’s liners has pools and whirlpools, don’t forget to take a swimsuit and flip-flops. However, you should wear a cover-up when walking around the ship.
By the way, don’t forget to take your sportswear because cruise ships offer numerous ways to keep fit. A morning jog right by the ocean or fitness classes on the sea days – sounds great, doesn’t it?
You should note that certain tours require appropriate clothing. For example, you may need special shoes to conquer the waterfall or clothes permissible for visiting a temple, church, etc.

Evening dress code

You should leave your beautiful swimsuits, flip-flops, shorts, tank tops for the daytime activities.
Holland America Formal Nights – or so-called Gala Nights – are exceptional evenings, when the ship’s guests put on elegant attire, enjoy a special dinner, drink champagne, and plunge into a unique atmosphere of style and aristocraticness. Gentlemen are expected to wear suits and ties, while ladies will look amazing in lovely cocktail dresses or gowns.
