Some cruise lines offer just one drinking package while the others provide various options. We chose the most “attractive” packages as for us. Their prices that you’ll find below are per person per day. We took the minimum price of a bottle of beer, a glass of wine, and a glass of whiskey and estimated how much you’d need to drink to prove the package’s advantage. Here’s what we’ve got...

Package name: CHEERS! Beverage Program
Package price: $54.95

Wine: $5.95
Whiskey: $6.25

If we consider only these three drinks, one can buy, for example, 5 bottles of beer, 3 glasses of wine, and 2 glasses of whiskey each day for this package cost.

Please note that you'll also have to pay a service charge/gratuity (all the prices mentioned above don’t include it). The company will automatically add it to the package price. The charge varies by the company.
We should note that the package cost may vary by the ship, duration of your cruise, season, etc. You should clarify this information for your sailing.
We remind you that we took the minimum prices of beer, wine, and whiskey! Besides, we haven’t taken soft drinks, coffee, milkshakes, and other nonalcoholic beverages into account. You can easily estimate the drinking package worthwhileness according to your personal needs and preferences.

We hope this experiment will help you to decide for yourself whether drinking programs of the world’s leading cruise companies are really worth your money!
Have you already booked drinking packages during your cruise? Please, share your thoughts in the comments!
