Before our trip to Siena, we had an hour of free time so we went to the 

Basilica di Santa Croce.

We saw this church on the side of 

the Bardini Gardens.

We went inside. Tickets are 6 Euros.

Inside 

the Basilica di Santa Croce

, there are a lot of graves and memorial plaques of famous people.
Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo, Michal Oginski, Enrico Fermi are among them.

This is a funerary monument to Dante Alighieri but the poet is really buried somewhere else because he was expelled from the city. Now they are trying to move his remains into the church, but they aren't able to do that.

The exit can be reached through this courtyard.
