Italy. Pisa. Piazza dei Miracoli

From the train station of Pisa, we came to the

Piazza dei Miracoli

(Square of Miracles). That's the name of the square with the famous

Leaning Tower of Pisa

.
It was cloudy and rainy, but there were a lot of tourists. After all, they weren't afraid of the weather!

Here's Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta, and the Baptistry behind it.

If you stand in the right place, the tower does appear to be leaning.

Although, tourists still try the iconic pose of trying to push the tower upright.

We walked around the Cathedral from all sides.

Then we bought tickets and went inside the Baptistry.

You can get to the top.

You can see the Cathedral from the windows.

Then we left the Cathedral. The inclination of the tower is 3 degrees 54'.

This is an observation deck on the tower. There are 294 steps! But we didn't have time to climb them and I was already tired.

Of course, tourists were trying to get photos that looked like they were pushing the tower back. The Leaning Tower of

Pisa

attracts many people.

After the restoration of the tower that took place between 2002 and 2010, its inclination was reduced and scientists announced that the Leaning Tower of Pisa had stopped sinking.
The it was time to go back to the station. We returned to Florence!
