Mercado Central or Mercat Central (English: Central Market) is a public market located in Valencia, Spain. It is generally considered one of the oldest European markets still running. Most vendors sell food items, although souvenir shops and restaurants are located inside the market as well. It is a popular location for tourists and locals alike.
The Central Market is a modern building built 1914 by Francesc Guàrdia i Vial and Alexandre Soler, who were both trained at the School of Architecture of Barcelona. The Central Market brings together nearly 400 small merchant.
