New Caledonia And Vanuatu. Cruise On "Rhapsody Of The Seas"

xorolik • 4 minutes read • June 21st, 2016
The program of our 23-day journey around Australia and Oceania included a cruise from Sydney to the islands of New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
It was our 5th-anniversary cruise, the longest one.
Cruise Dates: from February 22 to March 6, 12 days. The route was the following:
Sydney, 2 days in the ocean, Noumea (New Caledonia), Lifou (New Caledonia), Port-Vila (Vanuatu), Champagne Bay (Vanuatu), Luganville (Vanuatu), Mystery Island (Vanuatu), Isle of Pines (New Caledonia), 2 days in the ocean, Sydney.
Cruise ship

Rhapsody of the Seas

was built in 1997 in France. It belongs to Vision Class. The ship was renovated in 2002. The ship can accommodate 2435 passengers and 765 crew members. It has 11 decks, we lived on the 8th one. I always choose the left side, because, usually, it offers a view of the pier, of the city, of the island, and even before the stop of the ship, you can see the local landscapes and beauty.
The ship has several

restaurants and bars

, 2 swimming pools, nightclubs and shops, a

and a theater, a club for children and teenagers, SPA, a climbing wall, a library.
Our suite was spacious, there was a bath in the bathroom (there's only a shower in other cabins). The cabin was carefully cleaned, there were figures of towels every evening, and the main thing, we almost did not see our cleaner. If we needed something, we called him on, and he quickly brought us everything.
The main restaurant Edelweiss Dining Room is situated on the decks 4 and 5. The buffet is at Windjammer Cafe on the deck 9. We visited Windjammer Cafe for dinner only once because dishes in the main restaurant are much tastier and daintier, and there's a festive atmosphere, people are in beautiful clothes, you can choose dishes from the menu.
Food is excellent, we had no complaints. Breakfast is standard.
There are 2 pools, one is outdoor, and the other is in the Solarium area under a glass sliding roof where children under 18 years are not allowed. At the beginning of the cruise, the water temperature in the pool was 82.4 degrees (28 degrees Celsius), and when the ship was in the ocean for 2 days, there were a lot of people and children, especially, in the outdoor pool. But then, the number of swimming people decreased. When the water in the pool was changed, and its temperature got down to 73-75 degrees (23-24 degrees Celsius), the pool became empty, and we swam almost alone.
