One Step Away from MS Nieuw Statendam Ship

4 minutes read • June 25th, 2018
Last week we visited AIDA Cruises’ AIDAnova at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany (you can check the review here).
This time we invite you to see how things are going at Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera (Venice), where the

MS Nieuw Statendam ship

is being built for Holland America Line right now.

MS Nieuw Statendam, the second representative of the HAL’s Pinnacle-class ships and Koningsdam’s sister, is scheduled to enter service in December 2018. The vessel will have a tonnage of 99,500 GT and will accommodate 2,650 cruise lovers in 1,339 passenger staterooms.
The cruise liner will spend her maiden season in the Caribbean departing from Fort Lauderdale. After that, she’ll operate cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe in summer and fall 2019.

While there’s still some time left before the HAL’s newest addition starts her cruise career, we offer you to check several pictures of her construction.

Each step of the MS Nieuw Statendam ship's construction is very important.

Here’s a unique view of the ship:

Let’s look at her construction from different angles:

Nieuw Statendam is very stylish, isn't she?

And she’s absolutely stunning at sunrise and sunset:

 She’s ready for sea trials!

Recently, HAL surprised its friends with great news: the cruise line named Oprah Winfrey as Nieuw Statendam’s Godmother.

By the way, you can check Nieuw Statendam deck plan to find out more about her onboard attractions via this link.

What do you think about the HAL’s future addition? She’ll become the company’s largest ship and the company’s 16th vessel built at Fincantieri.
We can't wait to see her!
