As usual, we’d like to begin with the information on the Spirit of Discovery cruise ship and her general characteristics.
The liner will have a tonnage of 58,250 GT and a capacity of 999 passengers and 517 crew members. This small luxury vessel will have 10 decks. Each of her 540 cabins will feature a private balcony. It’s interesting to know that more than 100 staterooms were designed especially for solo travelers.
The vessel’s onboard amenities will include various dining venues, an outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a spa, sports court, beauty salon, boutique, and more.

Spirit of Discovery is the first new ship for the British based cruise company. Currently, she is in the final stages of construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Spirit of Discovery maiden voyage is scheduled to begin on July 10, 2019 in Dover, England. By the way, Dover will be one of the two homeports for Spirit of Discovery. The second one is the port of Southampton, England.
Spirit of Discovery itineraries will include various Northern Europe & Baltic Cruises and the Mediterranean & West Europe Cruises, as well as unique roundtrip Transatlantic Cruises.

Well, it’s time to get acquainted with the story of the construction of the Saga Cruises new cruise ship.

The traditional ceremony of steel cutting took place in February 2018 which marked the start of the liner’s construction.
