The island has steep shores and all life happens at the top. Buses were slowly climbing the mountain road:

The island is famous for its blue and white architecture, symbolizing the Greek flag:

The streets here were narrow, but tourists pushed their way through:

There were even people who came out to their balconies to play backgammon, steadily looking askance at the passing crowd and posing:

In the bay there were cruise ships:

I was to board the same ship for a 3 week cruise around Alaska in July.
