The island of Nevis. Continuation of the tour. p.3

Sugar cane was cultivated on the

island of Nevis

previously. And the sugar industry was the base of the economy.
After the abolition of slavery, nobody wanted to work on the plantations, there were no volunteers. And the plantation buildings were converted into hotels.
Our tour guide mentioned that Princess Diana once stayed at the hotel "Montpelier".

In general, I didn't notice anything special at this hotel. The sea was far away.

Local fauna.

Someone saw a monkey.

I had the feelings that if I stopped for just a moment, I would immediately become covered with overgrown grass.

Next stop on the former plantation. This is the Golden Rock Inn.

Red bench.

Both flowers and fish.

Water-lily bud.

Posing.

It was such a pretty place, when everything was blooming.

Going further.

I managed to take a photo of the sign while driving. This is the hotel we stayed in.

The church and an old cemetery.

There was a school next to it.

You can see

St. Kitts

and

our liner

from in the distance.

That was the end of our tour and we went to lunch.

To be continued...
