Mardi Gras is a lead ship of the cruise line's Excel class, a subclass of the Excellence class of cruise ships. She was constructed by Meyer Turku in Turku, Finland.
The newbuild officially joined her cruise family on December 18, 2020. She started her career on July 31, 2021.
With a tonnage of 181,808 GT, Mardi Gras is the largest cruise liner in the CCL's fleet. The vessel has a capacity of 6,500 guests and 2,000 crew members.
The Mardi Gras cruise ship is homeported at a new cruise terminal, Terminal 3, in Port Canaveral. She operates various Caribbean sailings.
