The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

Sergey Dolya • 3 minutes read • April 11th, 2016
The

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

is the largest mosque in Oman, and is one of the three required points to visit during a tour in

Muscat

, the capital of the country. At this time, our guides showed us how to perform ablutions before namaz, and I took photos of it...
There is a huge carpet in the

mosque

. It had been woven for a couple of years inside the mosque:
Before entering the mosque, it is obligatory to take off your shoes. There are special coves to hold them while you pray:
Before prayer, every true Muslim should perform ablutions:
We were told about this process in detail:
First, one ought to wash their arms, up to the wrists, 3 times:
One ought to rinse their mouth 3 times:
One ought to clean their nose 3 times:
One ought to wash his hands, up to the elbows, 3 times:
One ought to wash his face 3 times:
One ought to moisten his head, from front to back, once:
One ought to wash their ears once:
One ought to wash their neck once:
One ought to wash their feet 3 times:
During the ablutions, the use of excessive water for consumption and cleaning your face and feet, as well talking to others, is not recommended:
