Old San Juan

5. Cathedral of San Juan Bautista

Although it is not the biggest and not the most magnificent church in the world, it’s the second oldest cathedral in both North America and South America. 6. San Juan National Historic Site

It’s time to start your journey through the history of essential discoveries, exhausting wars, and significant events. The best route lies exactly through San Juan National Historic Site with its centuries-old forts, bastions, and walls.

7. La Fortaleza

Initially, it was constructed for the protection of the city. Very soon, La Fortaleza became an official residence of the Puerto-Rican governor. It has remained so to this day. You can take a tour of this beautiful building that keeps many art masterpieces and heritage artifacts.

8. Plaza de Armas

This small but incredibly comfortable square is deservedly considered the major one in San Juan. It’s surrounded by lovely old buildings and offers you to relax while listening to the murmuring of the fountain and peaceful sounds of live music.

9. The Capitol of Puerto Rico

A magnificent building, fantastic landscape, and lots of surprises both inside and outside the powerful Capitol – this place is ready to show you the past, the present, and maybe, even the future! How about shaking hands with American presidents?

10. Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery

We're all used to thinking about a cemetery as of a place for sorrow and sadness. You’ll forget about both of them here, at old Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery. Picturesque scenery, strong forts on both sides, beautiful statues, and just the endless ocean… All of it evokes sensations of happiness, eternity, and tranquility.
