Universal Studios Park - Los Angeles. P.1.

Sergey Dolya • 5 minutes read • November 12th, 2015

'Ahhh!' - a young boy to my right began shouting in advance. 'AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!' - he yelled in full voice when our car fell into the black opening, cowered away from the jaws of a dinosaur. 'Wiiiiiiiiiii!' - hysterically screamed the girls in front, when cold spray wet their hair and washed away half of the makeup. Our trip on the 'Jurassic Park' attraction ended. We took an open bus and went on a tour around the pavilions of the Universal Studios...
At the entrance to the Park, I stopped with my mouth open. In front of me was the entrance to the magnets store:

Just imagine! A big store where all the walls are covered with magnets:

I bought 10 different pieces and went into the Park itself:

I expected to see something like Disneyland. It turned out that there are only two attractions here: the Mummy and Jurassic Park. Before the Mummy, they made me put everything in a locker. My photo equipment couldn't be placed in one locker so I had to rent two of them.
Came in. Corridor. Twilight. Squeaks. Moans. Sat. Buckled up. Went. Darkness. Silence. Someone invisible is slowly pulling our car up. Suddenly we raced as if it was given a kick. Darkness. Screams. Overload. Skeletons falling from the ceiling. Speed. Nausea. Stop. The car abruptly stopped. There are no rails. Wall. And then, suddenly, we flew back. Backwards. You can't see anything. Flickering lights are moving away ahead. Behind we are being approached by the sound of the next car and other people's screams. Farewell. Stop. Slowly, with a screech, the car began to turn on the spot. The wall opened, and we went back to the start. Unbuckled. Got out. Sick. Corridor. Twilight. Door. Light. Ufff. Again?
Next attraction - Jurassic Park. A large floating car slowly moves in the clubs of water vapor between the plastic dinosaurs, spitting the water in different directions. At the end the car is being dragged into a black tunnel and thrown down with the cries of the passengers:

In addition to the rides, there are a few performances there. One of them is based on the movie about the firemen 'Backdraft'. In three different rooms fiery performances were arranged for us:

More pictures of the Park:

From the Park, you can clearly see the film studio. It consists of several covered pavilions. All the movies are shot inside of them:

Here, for example, 'Jurassic Park' was filmed and other big-budget sci-fi:

Inside, if there is no filming, they are empty:

We also got to the workshops. This is a Kingdom of visual illusion. See that wall. It is absolutely flat and just painted on the paper. Shadows create the effect of volume:

Plastic barbed wire and the plastic hatch:

When you need carved wood, the mold is pressed, and then it is filled with foam and painted like 'wood':
