Welcome to Antigua

xorolik • 3 minutes read • September 27th, 2015
Antigua and Barbuda are states in the West Indies, situated on three islands -

, Barbuda and Redonda. They are a part of the Lesser Antilles Islands.
The capital of Antigua is

St. Johns, home to

30 thousand people, almost a half of the population.
The highest point in Antigua is Boggy Peak at 1318 feet (402 m). There are 365 beaches; as the inhabitants say 'one for each day of the year!'

Nelson's Dockyard - the military port, completely renovated.

English Harbour – the most famous bay in Antigua. A historic district and former military naval base of Great Britain, led by Admiral Nelson.

The beautiful beaches are complete with crystal blue waters, similar to the waters in Aruba:

Below, an unusual halo around the sun. It is an optical phenomenon, the glowing ring around an object. They happen due to refraction and reflection of light by ice crystals. Usually this phenomenon can be observed in cold weather, in summer it is very rare, especially in such heat, as in Antigua island.
